No, these are not made from plastic but are made from hardened 4140 with a nitride coating.
You will need to do a little light sanding on your gun to get this to fit. Otherwise it is drop-in ready.
This will fit all models of the Smith M&P 2.0 in 9, 10, 40 and 45 in full/compact/subcompact sizes. Will not fit the 1.0.
