Peach State buyers who want a modern 9mm with a red-dot-ready slide now have a new option from CZ: the DUTY 4.0. It is striker-fired, 9x19mm, and built around a serialized internal chassis inside a fiberglass-reinforced polymer frame that works like a modular grip. The slide takes optics by direct mount, with fixed sights alongside, and the 4-inch barrel is unthreaded. Trigger pull runs 5.6 pounds, plus or minus 0.9, with a 4 mm reset.

The line splits two ways, then two ways again. DUTY 4.0 C is the compact: 15+1 rounds, 17+1 with the extended base plate, 27.2 ounces. DUTY 4.0 F is full-size: 17+1, 19+1 extended, 27.5 ounces. Both come as MS models with a manual thumb safety. From Marietta and Lawrenceville around Atlanta, up to Canton, Cartersville and Dalton, and down to Macon and Columbus, the C goes in the holster and the F goes to the range.

Capacity on the compact is 15+1, with a 17+1 option through the extended floor plate. Height is 5.3 in (135 mm) and the empty weight 27.2 oz (770 g). If you carry, this is the DUTY to look at; if you mostly shoot at the range, see the F.

This is the version with a manual thumb safety. The three internal safeties (firing pin block, trigger safety, trigger-bar safety) are the same as on every DUTY; the lever is an extra for people who were trained on one or simply want one.

Three things define the DUTY 4.0. First, a registered modular chassis: the registered part is inside, the polymer grip around it is modular. Second, the trigger, a striker SFDA rated at 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs), 0.16 in (4 mm) reset, 9 ± 1 mm (0.4 ± 0.04 in) travel, which is short and repeatable for a service pistol. Third, a direct-mount optics-ready slide, shown by CZ with Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield dots fitted, so a optic sits low without a stack of plates.

Who is it for: concealed carry where your state allows it, home defense, and range time that does not need a full-size grip. If you already shoot a P-10, the DUTY is the next step in the same family, with a new chassis and the optics done right.

Georgia has no purchase permit and no waiting period. Name the licensed Georgia dealer you want at checkout, in Atlanta, Valdosta, Savannah or anywhere between, and the pistol ships to them; the dealer runs the federal background check at pickup. Ammo, optics and parts go to your door. Live price and stock are confirmed at checkout.

Questions buyers ask: Is there a waiting period for a handgun in Georgia? No. Georgia has no purchase permit and no waiting period; your dealer runs the federal background check when you pick up. What red dots fit the DUTY 4.0 slide? The slide is cut for direct mounting, and CZ shows Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield optics fitted. Fixed sights stay on the slide. What does MS mean on the CZ DUTY 4.0 C MS? Manual safety. It adds a frame-mounted lever to the firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger-bar safety that every DUTY has.
